ITS HUMP DAY! Today's Lippie post will be a rarity because I am doing a double feature, I usually use Wednesday to put the spotlight on just one product. I will be talking about two lipsticks from MAC's Bao Bao Wan Collection that is by now completely sold out. With the Spring FINALLY upon us I could not wait to talk about these beautiful jewel inspired hues.
Okay, lets dive right into Burmese Kiss, MAC describes this color as “bright coral pink [with a Matte finish].” While I do agree this lipstick is a bright coral I feel like the finish is closer to a satin finish. This lipstick packs a punch of color that gives you an almost opaque coverage in one swipe. I love the creamy, velvet like texture to this product, I do not see it falling into my fine lines or adhering to any dry patches I have had on my lips.
Burmese Kiss has given me about 7 hours of wear time with eating and drinking. When I first apply the color to my lips I always see a sheen closer related to a satin & after about 4 hours it drys down to a comfortable matte. This color screams spring in your face look at me lips. I have gotten so many complements when I wear this lipstick. I have worn it to the office but I feel like it can be sexed up for date night.
Lavender Jade is described by MAC as a "dirty mauve with gold pearl [with a Matte finish]." Ummm... I don't know where MAC sees mauve, this lipstick screams cool toned lavender to me. Again I do not agree with the finish as with Burmese Kiss this lipstick starts of with a beautiful sheen that eventually wears away to a matte, I would call this more of a satin finish lipstick.
This lipstick is beautiful with very rich coloring that does give you even one swipe opaque coverage. I don't know what the formula difference is between this lipstick & Burmese Kiss somehow this formula is a lot thicker. If you apply more than one swipe it almost feels heavy on the lips. Where Burmese Kiss shines this lipstick falls a little flat after about 3 hours it does settle in to fine lines & only has a wear time of about five hours.
Even with all my complaints I love Lavender Jade, it packs such an intense color on to your lips you can skip the eyeshadow, wing your liner & be ready to prowl the streets. I wouldn't wear this lipstick to work but it is great for a Saturday with the girls or shopping with momma.
