When ever I need to discover something new makeup wise I always trust MAC to help me find what I am looking for. Recently I have been wondering about concealer, underneath my eyes I have slight dark circles when I don't sleep enough. Imagine terrible bruises only made to look funny colored when I put my foundation over them. Of course like most of my makeup questions I had no idea where to start! I love how helpful MAC consultants are I explained what my problem was, what I was looking for & like every other time I've gone home with exactly what I was looking for.
I went home with a sample of MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC42, it wasn't more than 2 weeks later before I picked up the full sized products for myself. MAC sells this product online & in store for $20, they have 16 shades available, the size of this product is 9 ml/ 0.30 oz and a little goes a very long way. MAC says this about their Pro Longwear Concealer:
"A lightweight fluid concealer that provides medium to full coverage with a comfortable natural matte finish. Color true formula lasts up to 15 hours. Helps conceal & correct the look for under-eye discolorations & circles. Comes in a clear glass vial with a matte black pump."
Sadly, the pump dispenses too much product because of the way it is made, there is really no way to dispense less product or put the excess back in the bottle. I use my MAC sample jar to help with this problem. What I do is pump directly into the jar you don't have to waste any excess product that comes out. I can use the same pump for at least 3 days of applying my makeup. I know that sounds extremely cheap but if you just dispose of all the extra concealer, you would probably only end up using 40% of each 9ml bottle!
MAC's Pro Longwear concealer is just that a good long wearing concealer. I do find that it takes a little long to set but the set time does help you have time build very well to full coverage. If you have oily skin like I do, its definitely one to consider!
Now I want to share a trick my MAC consultant Shannon taught me if you buy your concealer a shade or two lighter then your foundation it also works as a under eye highlighter. This trick really brightens up my eyes, especially if I apply it over my foundation the way she showed me.
At this point in time I have used about a quarter of my bottle & predict that I will buy another one when my current one is empty. Have you tried MAC's Pro Longwear Concealer? I'm curious to find out your thoughts on it Kinks.
