Hello Kinks,
Its no secret I am addicted to MAC products this is the first year though that I have stayed up hitting refresh for the new collections or just had to have something when it came out. When the previews for the holiday collection started releasing I had come up with a list of 20 products I wanted. Then I let reality settle in & narrowed down my list. It was hard choosing since everything looked so pretty. I had to ask myself the hard questions like, do you really need a new lipstick? Or will you really use that blush.
When all was said and done I settled on 4 items and feel like if the rest are available when I want them I would buy them after my holiday shopping.
My first choice was the Ruby Woo Keep Sake bag, for me it was an obvious choice while the color wasn't limited edition it was one I had been wanting for a while. Also I did get limited edition packaging as well as a limited edition Ruby Woo lip liner and a makeup bag for $39.50. When you do the math your probably getting about $47 worth if products so this isn't a bad deal.
If you are unfamiliar with MAC's Ruby Woo it is a very classic pin up style red the lipstick formula can be drying after a few hours of wear. I do suggest a lip balm underneath & applying the lipglass over after having it on for a few hours.

My second choice was MAC's Plum Eye bag, I wasn't completely sold on this at first because I wasn't sure if I would use the eyeshadow but after receiving it I'm happy I purchased it. This set includes an Extra Dimension eyeshadow duo (0.14 oz.), In Extreme Dimension Lash Mascara (0.44 fl. oz.), and a Powerpoint Eye Pencil (0.04 oz.). Once again none of these items are limited edition but the value makes it a good buy. MAC has released smaller-sized Extra Dimensions eyeshadows at $19.50/0.04 oz., this duo contains 0.14 oz. in total, which makes the value come to $68.25. On top of that you are getting a $22 for the mascara and $16 for the eyeliner, for a total value of $106.25.
I am pretty happy with everything but the eyeliner I find it to be very dry and hard to work with.

My third pick was one I knew I had to have, how can you resist a when your favorite makeup brand releases a palette with 6 colors you want but don't have? You buy it! Especially when every cent goes towards helping those with HIV/AIDS. MAC's Viva Glamorous palette features all 6 of the Viva Glam lipsticks. The shades are stunning, ranging from an outspoken matte red to a pearlized plum, and include:
- Viva Glam I Lipstick - Intense brownish blue-red (Matte)
- Viva Glam II Lipstick - Muted pink beige with shimmer (Satin)
- Viva Glam III Lipstick - Muted brownish plum (Matte)
- Viva Glam IV Lipstick - Neutral pink with pearl (Lustre)
- Viva Glam V Lipstick - Midtone rose with gold pearl (Frost)
- Viva Glam VI Lipstick - Terracotta plum with pearl (Lustre)

My final pick from the MAC Heirloom Mix holiday collection was a single lipstick Salon Rouge. A girl could never have enough lipstick MAC describes this color as a clean cherry red with a matte finish. This color goes on opaque with 7 hours of wear, I find that it fades evenly and does leave a stain on your lips. MAC's holiday lipsticks come in the traditional bullet shape with beautiful sparkly packaging. I think it looks like the snow falling personally, very fitting for the holiday season.

I really am happy about my picks for my first MAC holiday collection. I still have my eye on a few of the other pieces but we all know with the holidays being here there will be tons of holiday collections as well as limited edition makeup. What do you think of MAC's Heirloom collection?
