Hola Kinks!
Today I want to talk about one of my newest beauty finds, Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder. I have heard nothing but rave reviews about this product, I couldn't help giving into the hype. Boy am I glad I did! Concealer is a must have for me, my dark under eyes need to be hidden. My makeup arsenal consists of all kinds of concealers light weight to heavy duty, no matter how much money I spend on concealer one thing always stays the same... creasing. Until I found my perfect match anyway.
This product is nothing flashy, it sets under eye concealer but unlike anything I have ever experienced. If under-eye dark circles haunt you to your core, Secret Brightening Powder is a MUST have!

Laura Mercier say this about Secret brightening powder: "A lighter-than-air powder used to set Secret Brightener, Secret Concealer and Secret Camouflage. While adding an invisible lightening boost, the transparent white colour brightens skin instantly. The micronized pigments will not settle in fine lines or accentuate shadows. Formulated for all skin types, Secret Brightening Powder creates the appearance of naturally perfected skin, while maximizing wear and coverage."
I rarely get stumped on how to start my reviews but this magical powder has me at a loss for words. Secret Brightening Powder is finely milled to a point where it almost feels creamy. This powder is stark white witha silica base and what appears to have tiny flecks of shimmer that does not translate once applied to the skin. I use my E.L.F. Small Tapered brush just so you know how low maintenance using this powder is. Take a small amount and all you have to do is press it into your skin for all day flawless looking eyes. You want to press this powder not brush it so you don't accidentally brush your concealer off.
Now for the good stuff, this powder does not fall into fine lines at all & does a great job of preventing any creasing to your concealer.I have tried this product with a wide range of drug store to high end concealers always getting a flawless look to my under eyes. This powder is weightless on the skin Laura Mercier describes it as “lighter than air”, I couldn't have said it better myself.

Personally I don't see the brightening effect with all my concealers, as with any product you have to make it work for you. All though the powder is white, it still goes on translucent and sets my concealer with a semi-matte finish. Laura Mercier's powder does not change the color of my concealer. My only draw back is that in the summer months I will not be able to use this product due to the white color. I turn as brown as a baked biscuit in the summer time, white powders always leave a ugly cast on me when I am tanned. Not to fret Laura Mercier Secret Brightening powder comes in two colors! The second color has a slight yellow tint to it that I would definitely suggest for the summer time.
Now for you Kinks that love the baked method when applying concealer... Please do not do that with this product especially if you will be taking pictures.
